Dream, Plan, Do: Me and My World

In year 1, children will build basic knowledge, skills, and vocabulary important to dreaming about and planning for the future, with a focus on identifying and understanding themselves, their strengths and emotions, and their individuality/uniqueness as a foundation for appreciating others and the world around them.

Sharing and Exchanging Ideas

In year 2, students will build on basic social emotional and planning skills to expand their focus beyond themselves to the people and experiences in their everyday lives, as they learn about sharing and exchanging ideas with others in pursuit of goals.

Abstract Ideas and Communication

In year 3, students will be challenged to think beyond basic, tangible interactions to focus on more abstract ideas and concepts that are crucial to appreciating and communicating effectively with others, such as collaboration and respect.

In year 4, students are encouraged to consider their role in a larger community as they think about their futures in ways that impact not only themselves, but their family, schools, and neighborhoods, through topics such as perspectives, stereotypes, and value.

In year 5 students will apply their growing planning and problem solving and skills as they think about the future, and how they can apply resilience, collaboration, and evaluation skills to both individual and shared goals, while thinking about how they might prepare for their roles and careers.
